Defender of Democracy Awards Dinner ...

Since 1996, Parliamentarians for Global Action has held its annual Defender of Democracy Awards in conjunction with its Annual Parliamentary Forums.

This year, the Defender of Democracy Awards Dinner will be held in the Stockholm Town Hall, where the Nobel Prize is awarded.

The Awards honor those who have fought for justice, peace and democracy around the world. Last year the awards were given to Sra. Estela Barnes de Carlotto of Argentina for her fight on behalf of dissapeared children in Latin America, and Dr. Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León of Mexico for his committment to a peaceful democratic transition in Mexico.
